New Anesthesia Procedure during Tvt Surgery: Motor Nerve Preservation with Spinal Anesthesia Using Low-dose Bupivacaine

چکیده
Aims of Study In the case of tension-free vaginal tape (TVT) surgery, muscle strength is required for obtaining an adequate increase in abdominal pressure when conducting a stress test by coughing during the procedure. Consequently, although the procedure is frequently performed under local infiltration anesthesia, this requires the use of a large amount of local anesthetic. We employ the use of spinal anesthesia using a low dose of bupivacaine that allows the obtaining of reliable analgesic effects while minimizing motor blocking. When lowdose bupivacaine at a concentration of one-half to one-fourth the normal dose is used for spinal anesthesia, motor blocking has been reported to be only mild despite adequate sensory blocking, indicating dissociation between sensory and motor anesthetic depth. This study was conducted for the purpose of assessing the usefulness of this new anesthesia technique in its application to TVT surgery.

Spinal Anesthesia Using Low Concentration Hypobaric Bupivacaine for Anorectal Surgery. a Randomized Controlled Trial
Background: To study the efficacy of spinal analgesia with low concentration bupivacaine for anorectal surgery as compared to low dose bupivacaine epidural analgesia. Methods: This randomized control study was conducted on 60 adult patients undergoing elective anorectal surgery. The patients were randomly allocated into one of three groups of 20 patient’s each. The two treatment arms received s...
متن کاملمقایسهی اثر بلوک حسی- حرکتی بوپیواکائین با لیدوکائین دوز پایین و هیپرباریک در جراحی آنورکتال به روش بیحسی نخاعی
Background & Objective: Outpatient surgery can be performed by general or spinal anesthesia. Spinal anesthetic drugs have side effects. Many anesthesiologists choose general anesthesia, because of its relative predictability and to avoid undesirable side effects associated with spinal anesthesia. For example lidocaine is frequently associated with Transient Neuroligic Symptoms (TNS). Bupivacain...
متن کاملComparison of the effects and complications of unilateral spinal anesthesia versus standard spinal anesthesia in lower-limb orthopedic surgery.
INTRODUCTION A restricted sympathetic block during spinal anesthesia may minimize hemodynamic changes. This prospective randomized study compared unilateral and bilateral spinal anesthesia with respect to the intra- and postoperative advantages and complications of each technique. MATERIAL AND METHODS Spinal anesthesia was induced with 0.5% hyperbaric bupivacaine and a 25-G Quincke needle (Dr...
متن کاملLaparoscopic cholecystectomy under spinal anesthesia: comparative study between conventional-dose and low-dose hyperbaric bupivacaine
BACKGROUND Laparoscopic cholecystectomy has the advantages of causing less postoperative pain and requiring a short hospital stay, and therefore is the treatment of choice for cholelithiasis. This study was designed to compare spinal anesthesia using hyperbaric bupivacaine given as a conventional dose by lumbar puncture or as a low-dose by thoracic puncture. METHODS A total of 140 patients wi...
